LiveMe will pay you for your talent, looks, and charisma

After researching, I learned that Liveme is a live streaming app that has been around for years. It boasts a digital community of more than 35 million people from around the world who watch live broadcasts and broadcast their own. Users can follow others, comment on their broadcasts and send in cash gifts, and a daily game show broadcast offers a $2,000 prize. Intrigued by the prospect of free money and experimenting, I downloaded the app, creating an account under the name “Coolia” and using a picture of my dog for reliability.

A friendly and enthusiastic guy greeted me, explaining how to navigate the app and find content that matched my interests. Among the categories presented were “girls,” “the world,” and “talent.”

As I scrolled through the various broadcasts, I encountered users talking about their day, dancing in front of the camera, or singing. Among the diverse cast of characters, I came across a stream of a little girl, which somewhat discouraged me because of the possibility of unkind viewers and the realization that this is how some children spend their leisure time.

During my own stream, I basically sat around and asked about how people make money with the app. Although no one answered my question, I received a “diamond” at the end of the seven-minute broadcast. The longer the broadcast lasts, the more diamonds and gifts you can get. Gifts can also be converted into diamonds, and 40,817 diamonds can be exchanged for 200 real PayPal dollars. I watched other popular streams that usually involved girls dancing, singing or doing yoga. The donors were thanked and viewers were encouraged to follow the broadcasters. Receiving a Porsche, which I assume converts to a significant amount of diamonds, was a considerable thrill. The whole experience was like a kind of fusion of Snapchat and “Black Mirror.”

LiveMe recently hosted a series of concerts featuring performers from the metro. While the platform provides an opportunity for artists and others to make money, it also exposes users to potential risks, such as online predation and cyberbullying. Nevertheless, if you have some free time and want to make some extra money, LiveMe might be worth considering.
